What to know before you apply
Check visa eligibility for each family member using that person’s nationality and travel document. A parent’s visa does not automatically cover everyone travelling with them. Prepare a separate passport record, photo and application for each traveller who needs permission, then check the shared itinerary against every individual record.
Start an individual traveller’s applicationCheck every person, not just the family booking
A shared surname, a shared home and one flight reservation do not establish the same immigration position for every family member. One parent may hold a different nationality from a child, and a residence card does not change the nationality printed in a passport. Begin with the actual document each person will use.
Make a private working list of travellers, passport nationality, whether a visa is needed and which application has been started. Use the passport-specific guides where applicable. For an exempt person or an unusual travel document, resolve the eligibility question before purchasing a paid application service.
Use a simple family application organiser
| For each traveller | Check before moving on |
|---|---|
| Passport record | Correct given names, surname, date of birth, nationality, number and expiry. |
| Portrait and passport page | The files show this person, not a sibling or parent. |
| Travel plan | Arrival, departure, accommodation and accompanying travellers match the actual booking. |
| Application confirmation | Save the reference for this individual request and identify whom it belongs to privately. |
| Decision and travel documents | Check the outcome and details for each person; do not stop after the first family approval. |
Keep this organiser on your device. Do not post a spreadsheet of passport numbers into a public support comment or social-media group. A checklist can use private nicknames until you need to compare the genuine document details.
Avoid the most common family-document mix-up
Two children, similar filenames
A parent saves both passport photographs as “photo.jpg” in different phone folders. While filling the second child’s form, the file picker opens the last-used folder and the first child’s image is selected again. The filename alone does not reveal the error. Use separate local folders and inspect the actual preview before continuing.
The upload preparation guide explains how to check the image and the file format. Technical acceptance does not mean the correct person’s document was selected. On the final review screen, compare the physical passport with the form and the selected document previews for that traveller.
Separate visa documents from child-travel evidence
An immigration application checklist does not necessarily answer every question about a child travelling with one parent, a guardian or another adult. Confirm the evidence relevant to your route and airline before departure. Depending on the circumstances, you may need to clarify identity, relationship, guardianship or permission to travel.
This article does not claim that one consent-letter format is compulsory for every child’s Uganda visa, or that a visa approval removes other child-travel checks. If there is a custody order, an unaccompanied-minor arrangement or uncertainty about authority to travel, obtain the appropriate professional or official guidance for that situation rather than adapting a generic online template.
Regional family trips still need individual decisions
The Uganda embassy’s regional-visa guidance states that dependants apply in their own right. Do not treat one adult’s regional visa as covering everyone else. The same family itinerary may support several individual requests, but it does not combine those people into one travel authorisation.
Check the country of first entry for the whole party and any family member joining later. A traveller arriving separately through Kigali may face a different issuing-country route from relatives arriving through Entebbe. Use the East Africa product guide to understand the Uganda-first scope before selecting that category.
How to use this service for a family
The current form is for an individual applicant. It shows the selected service total for that person; it is not a family-cart checkout. Complete and keep track of each request deliberately, checking the confirmation before starting the next. Do not overwrite one person’s saved information with another person’s passport details.
If you need help coordinating several requests, contact support and explain the number of travellers, intended arrival and what is unclear. Use the proper private channel if documents are requested. An organised family file can reduce avoidable confusion, but neither one successful payment nor one approval establishes that the entire party is ready to travel.
Your questions answered
Does a parent’s visa automatically include a child?
Do not assume it does. Check the child’s own nationality, passport and visa needs. Official regional-visa guidance says dependants apply in their own right; a single adult’s approval is not a family travel document.
Must everyone in one family have the same visa requirement?
No. Families may hold different nationalities or travel documents, so assess each person separately. Residence in the same country or travelling on the same booking does not establish identical immigration eligibility.
Is a parental consent letter always required for every child’s Uganda eVisa?
This guide does not establish a universal consent-letter upload rule. Requirements can depend on who accompanies the child, the travel route and the airline. Confirm the applicable child-travel evidence separately and provide any further document requested.
Can I pay once for a family group on this form?
The current service uses individual applications and shows the total for the selected applicant. Keep confirmations for each traveller; contact support for help coordinating several family applications.
