Do South Korean citizens need a visa for Uganda?
South Korean ordinary-passport holders require a visa for Uganda. In the inspected application choices, the relevant nationality is Republic of Korea. Use that selection for the South Korean passport you will carry; it is not the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Prepare the product-specific documents before travel and check the current Uganda and Korean official notices for your journey.

Select Republic of Korea for a South Korean passport
The country name on a travel guide and the official selection label in a form need not be identical. Here, South Korea maps to Republic of Korea in the inspected Uganda nationality choices. Check the final selected value rather than choosing another similarly named entry. A Korean residence card held by a foreign national is a separate document and does not change that person's passport nationality.
Use the passport's given-name and surname fields when preparing the request. Compare the spelling and spacing with travel reservations, especially where a booking abbreviation or a different romanisation was used. If the form's character rules create a mismatch, ask for clarification before paying. Do not replace the passport identity with an informal English name used elsewhere in the itinerary.

Use current Korean notices without merging separate requirements
The Korean foreign ministry's Overseas Safe Travel service publishes Uganda information and embassy notices, including a dated October 2026 notice about the yellow-fever certification change. Read that alongside Uganda's own dated announcement and the live application instructions. Older category lists can contain different wording; the publication dates matter when deciding which question still needs official confirmation.
A Uganda notice does not determine requirements for a connection, Kenya or Rwanda. Write the full country sequence and check each applicable authority. Medical advice is a separate matter for a qualified professional. This guide helps identify the documents and source differences; it does not claim that eligibility for a tourist visa establishes that travel is recommended or that all border conditions are satisfied.

A South Korean applicant sees Republic of Korea in the form
Planning example: The traveller opens the application from this guide. Review the formal label and keep it tied to the South Korean travel passport.
- Check Republic of Korea rather than the North Korean entry.
- Use passport name fields, not an informal English booking name.
- Prepare English supporting information from the Korean itinerary.

Uganda eVisa requirements for South Korean passport holders
For a Tourist Visa, prepare these files and your travel details. Use the passport you will carry to Uganda. The application checklist changes when you select a different visa category.
Passport biodata page
A clear copy of the details page. Your passport needs at least six months of validity.
Recent passport photograph
A clear passport-style photograph taken within the last six months.
Return ticket
Your return flight or onward travel booking.
Accommodation and travel plan
Have your Uganda accommodation address, intended arrival date, entry point and planned stay ready. Keep booking details and a tour plan available if requested.
The live portal instructions specify JPEG, PNG, BMP or PDF, 5–250 KB per file, with supporting documents in English. Keep the original documents for travel. Further evidence may be requested.
Checklist: live immigration portal and tourist visa guidance. Check current entry-document notices and your departure-country travel advice before travel; older category checklists can differ.
Visa options and total prices
Choose by your destinations and entry pattern. These are Uganda Visa totals per applicant in US dollars.
Planning more than one country? Read the East Africa Tourist Visa requirements and first-entry guide. For repeated Uganda visits, compare the 6-, 12- and 24-month Multiple Entry choices. Immigration decides approval and the stay permitted.
Make a shared Korean tour plan readable for each applicant
A tour itinerary may be issued in Korean and cover several passengers. Prepare English supporting information as required by the Uganda upload instructions, with the first arrival, accommodation and final departure understandable. Check whether the reservation names the individual traveller. If only the group leader appears, ask the organiser to clarify the evidence rather than uploading an unrelated passenger's document.
Keep each passport scan and photograph in its own application. Families or groups may include different nationalities and different document types even when their bookings are shared. Use the guide matching each passport and check its validity separately. The local file checker can inspect reported file properties; it cannot assess a translation, identify the traveller in a booking or determine whether a document is authentic.

Match the product and follow-up record to the actual trip
For a South Korean visitor with one Uganda holiday, begin with the Tourist comparison. A Uganda-first trip continuing to Kenya or Rwanda needs the regional itinerary check. Repeated Uganda visits over a longer period raise the additional Multiple Entry evidence requirements. Do not choose a repeat-entry product merely because a shared safari schedule has several destinations or hotel changes within Uganda.
After reviewing the application, retain the reference and the email used for that request. A booking payment, a reference number or a request to provide more information is not the issued immigration authorisation. Korea's embassy, Uganda Immigration and Uganda Visa support have different roles. Direct a passport or consular issue to the appropriate official channel and a question about this website's workflow to its support.

Questions from South Korean travellers
Which nationality should a South Korean passport holder select?
Select Republic of Korea in the inspected Uganda application choices. Do not confuse it with Democratic People's Republic of Korea or with a country where you currently live. Review the selected nationality before sending the request.

Can a Korean residence card replace the travel passport?
No. Prepare the actual passport biodata page. A resident of South Korea holding another nationality needs that travel document's eligibility assessment and should enter Korean residence separately.

Can a group itinerary be supplied only in Korean?
Prepare the supporting information in English as requested by the Uganda instructions. It should identify the applicant and make the first arrival, accommodation and departure understandable. Check the final saved file rather than assuming the package name supplies those details.

Where should I compare current Korean and Uganda entry notices?
Use Korea's Overseas Safe Travel Uganda page and Uganda Immigration's dated notices alongside the current application instructions. Check other destination and transit rules separately; a notice about Uganda cannot settle them all.

How much is a Uganda visa for South Korean citizens?
Uganda Visa's total price per applicant is USD 99 for a Tourist Visa and USD 199 for an East Africa Tourist Visa. Multiple Visa costs USD 199 for 6 or 12 months, or USD 299 for 24 months. The selected total appears before you send your application.
How long does a Uganda eVisa take to process?
The review time depends on the visa category, completeness of the application and immigration checks. Submit before travel and allow time for further document requests. Your intended arrival date is not a promised decision date. Monitor the email address used for the application.

How long can I stay, and when should I use my approval?
A single-entry visit can be granted for up to three months; your issued permission controls the actual stay. Uganda Immigration says the approval authorisation must be used within 90 days of approval. The travel window and the stay granted are different. Read both before departure.
